Together we will explore your storytelling needs in detail. We'll take a deep dive into the information needed for JoLondon Creative Works to provide you with an accurate budget and schedule estimate. Among the topics we'll discuss are the video’s purpose, main messages, desired outcomes, and target audience.
Following this discussion, JoLondon will present an estimate and production contract. Once approved, we move into the pre-production phase of the project.
Laying the right groundwork is essential to developing a great video. Together, during a kickoff meeting, we will:
• Develop Production Schedule.
• Refine the video concept.
• Decide the style and vibe (look and feel).
• Write the script.
• Storyboard video.
• Gather all production elements: branding (colors, logos, taglines), pre-produced video (frequently referred to as b-roll, which JoLondon will source from commercial stock houses), photos, stills, etc.
• Cast voice talent or actors, if needed.
Prior to moving on to production, you will have a chance to review a creative brief, which summarizes our discussions up to this point.
Now that we have the road map (creative brief) developed in the pre-production stage, it’s time to put it all together.
For a live production, this means camera set up, directing talent, engineer the sound, design the lighting, and film a great video.
For a production relying strictly on existing assets, it means moving directly into post production.
Your story begins to take shape as JoLondon puts all the pieces together, so the video looks exactly like we planned in the pre-production phase. Among other tasks, your producer will
• edit the video to refine content, as well apply color corrects as necessary;
• edit the audio and add music and voice overs, if part of the project; and
• create graphics.
You’ll then have an opportunity to see the first draft, referred to as the RoughCut.
The purpose of the first RoughCut is to establish the storyline, so it contains only the necessary select cuts assembled in order of appearance. No music, graphics, or animation is applied to this version. Upon completion of the first RoughCut and subsequent versions before the final master is completed, each version will be sent to the client for preview, approval, and sign-off.
Once you have signed off on the final cut, JoLondon will create high quality files of your video that can be used for a variety of formats, be it for the web, trade shows or broadcast television.
